Are Quiet Zone Crossings Less Safe Than Regular Crossings?

I just offer it as an example of what is missing from the crossing protection system logic.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family:verdana,geneva;">I understand your point about the yellow light encouraging some people to speed up. That does happen at traffic lights, and some people who speed up still don’t make it in time. </span></p> <p><span style="font-family:verdana,geneva;">But my point is that the lack of any pre-warning with grade crossing signals <span style="text-decoration:underline;">makes it impossible to comply with their law</span> depending on vehicle speed and the stopping distance available when the signals activate. </span></p> <p><span style="font-family:verdana,geneva;">And if you removed the yellow light phase from traffic lights, people would not be able to comply with them or their law either. The same would be true if you removed the approach signals from railroading. </span> </p>
