<p><span style="font-family:verdana,geneva;">I found that article by George Hilton called <i>SLACK</i> in Trains magazine February 1976. It covers a lot of what fits perfectly into this thread. Mr. Hilton does not mention anything about slack being a Great Satan, but he does refer to slack this way:</span></p> <p><span style="font-family:georgia,palatino;font-size:x-large;"><strong>“The end result of most of what is wrong with railroading.”</strong> </span> </p>
