(And please don't tell me we're going to make up the difference with wind.)[/quote] The difference will be made up with massive conservation.  Smart meters, smart grid, and smart appliances, coupled with conservation pricing (price rationing) will do the trick. This is ultimately the national energy policy today.  How many times have you heard that Americans use too much of the world's energy? The conservation policy is easy to implement simply by reducing supply.
