Just returned from the Memorial Day activities I was honored to attend with a invitation from V.A., Am. Legion, and AmVets. Worked up a humungus apetite for that "wedge" of fresh coconut cream pie you did Cherokee. Let's make it a tad more than a 1/8 of a slice..a quarter of the pie would be more like it. Eolafan, hope all is well out your way, I forgot to say thanks for the welcome. What in the world is going on around Philly CSXrules? Sounds like one of our Fl. hurricanes blew off course. Whenever I got to town, I would take a jaunt on the old Girard street car line and a quicky "out and back" on the Red Arrow (German Town) or the subway to Trenton (daytime only). I never had time for longer "run-outs." Like I say, "if its steel on steel...!" I used to hop-off the Amtrak in Philly from Baltimore to get a last breath of fresh air before N.Y. City. Hey, is Book Binder's still cooking up a storm (no pun intended)?

I'm still partial to the old B. & O. and rode from Balto. to Chicago (round trip) every Xmas for years 1981 thru '86'. From Chi Town, it was "Santa Fe All the Way" to Kansas City, Mo (once on the Super Cheif) then change to either Frisco or Texas Cheif to Tulsa Ok. One heck of a trip but I always ran out of money on the club and dining cars before Tulsa. That's okay, getting there was all the fun.

Its a little late and if I have any more Java, I'll be up all night watching "Leave it to Beaver" or some such rubbish. Hope to keep the chatter going real soon but for now, stay well and safe over the weekend. And yes, that is the best thing that's happened to a Coconut since Captain James Cook got conked by one of the Aloha Gang. Happy rails folks.
