Brazil Narrow
Posted by edblysard on Thursday, May 26, 2011 10:03 PM

A few shots from a buddy in Brazil.

Note the size difference between the Dash 9s and the GT EMD export locomotive.

The hoppers a loaded with lime.

And check out the dual gauge tracks, the Dash 9s are riding on a B B narrow gauge trucks added by the Brazil railroad.

For another photo - which should be visible without being a member, go the the home page for this webgroup (owned and moderated by David J. Williams, who also belongs to this one and posts here occasionally):

From the message traffic, I understand there was another shipment  6 more of these units yesterday as well.

Link to a short - 0:50 - YouTube video (not mine) from yesterday showing those 6 units blocked-up on 6 flatcars to about 0:36, and then 6 more flatcars following with their trucks onboard (together with a covered hopper 'cover' or 'buffer' car at each end), trailing a lone NS unit:

"NS 098 with VALE export move on the NS - PITL - NS 8334 brings the 098 Eastbound through Cove, PA on the NS Pittsburgh Line at MP: PT 116.  VALE units are: 1289, 1290, 1291, 1292, 1293 & 1294.
