Train Pedestrian in Charlotte
Posted by Phoebe Vet on Monday, May 2, 2011 5:19 AM

The Amtrak Crescent has hit and killed a pedestrian at the Sugar Creek crossing in Charlotte.

The Crescent comes through Charlotte between 2:00 (Northbound) and 2:40 AM (Southbound).  It was the southbound train that hit the pedestrian.

I will never feel safe until we outlaw these deadly trains.

Glad that CO is providing more in depth coverage by letting us know that one on the train was injured by this collision of a person with a train locomotive.

People don't realize how sneaky 1 million pounds of steel with a 160 decibal horn can be. This guy was probably so distracted by the flashing lights and bells going off while these big wooden mechanical arms are lowering that he didn't even see the sneaky little choo choo.
