Blizzard in ND & MN - shut down trains?
Posted by Kali on Friday, January 7, 2011 10:21 AM

I'm wondering if the blizzard in ND and MN recently shut down I90. I'm wondering if passenger and freight trains also were stopped.

Thanks

CP sent a couple of manifest trains via the scenic route to get from Calgary to Chicago. The trains ran Thunder Bay to Toronto,  then back to Chicago. This was done to help clear up congestion with sidings plugged with dead trains. After a couple of days they got the crews repositioned and began getting all the trains back running. The two priority Intermodals were back running much sooner.
