UP's Officer Special runs over Donner.
Posted by DadgariPhotography on Monday, June 7, 2010 12:32 PM

On a cloudy, rain filled Donner day, UP's Business Special, S-RVSP-04, makes its trek over Donner Pass. The rear of this 19 car train featured the Fox River, a theater style inspection car with all 8 of the rear facing lights on for the viewing riders. This made for an interesting composition with the entrance to Tunnel 35 near Yuba Pass. As a special note, I have been told that the gentleman in the blue shirt was none other than Mr. Jim Young himself, the president of the UP. What a nice ride Mr. Young! I would like to thank Dick and Kevin Dorn for letting me tag along with them for the chase.

Fox River

Enjoy, and thanks for taking the time to look.
