US rail equipment is several times heavier than our European counterparts' rail equipment, and a lot of it (intermodel is no doubt better, but it's probably not as good as the stuff in Europe) has flat wheels and other maintenance issues that, combined with heavy cars, would really beat up the track. <br></p>
