1225 down for repairs
Posted by JoeKoh on Thursday, December 3, 2009 7:02 AM

Just got an email from The steam railroading Institute that the 1225 is down for repairs. All of the remaining excursions for their polar express trains will be pulled by a diesiel borrowed from the Great Lakes Central. They also apologized and thanked all the visitors who have and continue to support the 1225.She did have some boiler problems during steamfest and the 765 helped out with an extra excursion run.Hope she gets back in the grove soon.

stay safe

Got the same email.  Disappointing, of course, but not altogether unexpected.

I had seen somewhere that SRI was considering another Trainfest for 2010.  Aside from the fact that it would help raise money for the work on 1225, I wonder how this will affect those plans.
