ALCOs and the scrapper

I collected these old posts for a topic on another thread, and thought people here might like to see them (although they are all quite sad).

All four are images of ALCOs either after meeting the torch, or just before, which I caught back in the 1970s...

Some of those Alco centuries weren’t even 15 yrs old when they were scrapped in '79.  As of 2009, they're still Alco/MLW RS and Century series locos hauling freight on several shortlines, 30 years after your pics were taken!
