CSX is thinning out its manager ranks. Where I work, there are fewer crews working and fewer employees than just about any time in the recent past. There are more bosses than at any time I can remember. They could almost put a boss on each yard job and still have enough to hide in the bushes to watch you. I don't like seeing anyone lose their job, but the bosses with seniority somewhere still have some place to go. (They keep their craft seniority if they maintained union membership; that is, if they kept their dues up-to-date.)
