NP / Loewy streamlined coach in St.Paul yesterday?
Posted by wjstix on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 9:30 AM

Hi, I noticed (but was unable to stop and photograph) what appeared to be a nicely restored NP smooth-side streamlined coach sitting in Pig's Eye yard in St.Paul, near where Upper Afton Road meets Highway 10/61. Looked to be in "like new" condition, Northern Pacific 'North Coast Limited' type Loewy paint scheme. No other passenger cars around, I'm guessing it was being moved by a private owner (it was mixed in with freight cars) or perhaps to/from a museum. Anybody happen to know more about it??

Yessir that would be ours. We repainted it in house and CP borrows it annually (including when it was the DM&IR Minnesota II) for something or other in Thief River Falls. It is the Northern Pacific #517.
