I make an investigation about "tramtrain". It's a light rail vehicle which can run on main line train tracks (for more information, you can see : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tram-train). One of my friend, tell me that the first concept was developped in USA between Chicago and Milwaukee. Have you any informations about it?

Wait a minute . . .  why isn't this a non-starter?  As long as I've known about LRT, I've heard or seen instance of the system utilizing "regular" higher poundage freight rail.  After all, gauge is determined by the distance between the rails, not the width of the iron itself.  Isn't it?  Dunce
