I saw a full Seattle Sounder (the Seattle commuter rail system) train in Chicago yesterday, at the yards south of Union Station (visible from Roosevelt Road). Anyone know what it was doing there, so far from home?

John
Sounder commuter rail is to run in two sections: Tacoma to Seattle and Seattle to Everett. The Tacoma to Seattle is operating very well above forcast. The Seattle to Everett has been delayed for another year due to single tracking issues. Double tracking part of the line would mean filling in a bit of Puget Sound and that has slowed it. But the trainsets came as ordered so they are being leased out whereever possible to get some revenue. I assume tht Chicago got one.
