BNSF Tracing tools???HELP

I learned on this website a couple monthes ago about how I can take down the car numbers in BNSF trains and then enter them into their tracing tools website and find out what train I was seeing(TACCHC,CHCSSE,etc) but now I am unable to do that because they changed their website. How can I get to the tracing tools website again. Thanks for any help.

Other railroads have long required that you have a password in order to trace cars. No doubt BNSF has followed suit. The railroads want tracing limited to the customers actually involved in the shipment. The shippers insist on this as they do not want their competitors knowing what and where they are shipping.

Is their any other way I can identify what train I am seeing then with out having the tracing tools. I have a scanner, but almost always the dispatcher talks to the train and calls him by his lead engine number. I don't care about whats in the cars or anything. I just want to find another way to identify the train I am seeing because I enjoy writing down times and watching the flow in traffic change,etc on the BNSF line I watch on. My aunt works for BNSF, do you think she could help me out in any way.

Do you know anyone that works in traffic, physical distribution or logistics for a company that uses the railroad? They might trace for you. CSX, for example, assigns passwords by computer, so a Traffic Manager that wants to trace cars at home as well as at work has to have two passwords, one for each computer. Also, you might try by telephone. Most railroads, including, BNSF, have (or had) 800 numbers where you can enter the number using the key pad. These just gave the last passing record, so a password is not needed.

Bcrail's website lets you enter a car number and it will tell you the location of the car and the carrier. It does not tell you the shipper or cargo. But I like to fallow a cars trip around north america.

Whilst knowing what is going where and when is all part of the interest in railfanning, you must remember that terrorists and organised crime can use information to intercept valluable cargo or military kit etc. You must realize from this that asking a railroad employee to get this kind of information for you, no matter how innocent, may be putting their job and livelihood on the line.
