With record (?) snows in the pacific NW how has the RRs in that area handled the snow? Just Jordan Spreaders, ballast regulators or has the big gun rotaries come out anywhere?

 Ballast Regulators....?

Yep.  Bigger end plows are made, to move more snow.  They can get the snow from between the rails like a flanger, and move it around, like ballast.   Saves using up a train crew (still need a section crew), engine(s), plow/flanger, easier to park somewhere, easier to change direction, etc.

UP parked one near my house.

Bigger blade on the front than a normal regulator.

WSOR: Thanks for the pictures of the ballast regulator modified for snow removal. Did't have any! Got a lot of sceptical questions aboout them. Still no information of how the Washington RRs are faring. Most automobile roads out of Seattle closed.

The northbound Coast Starlight is terminating at Portland and the Seattle section of the Empire Builder at Spokane.
