Tehachapi or Cajon
Posted by mj3200 on Sunday, October 19, 2008 12:29 PM

I'm traveling from LA to Las Vegas on Tuesday 28th. I will have a couple of hours to stop and take in the trains. So the question is Tehacappi or Cajon, which would be best?

Thanks

Jonathan

Well, Cajon is on the way to Vegas and Tehachapi is out of the way, so I would say Cajon. Might I sugest Hill 582 (the greatest railfan location on earth Cool).

Chad Thomas is absolutely right.  Cajon Pass is on the way to Las Vegas.  The time you’ll spend just getting to Tehachapi can be used to see exciting things in Cajon Pass!  Visit Tehachapi when you have much more time.

The above shows the NEW track by CAJON.  The triple-tracking project is a marvel in itself to see.
