Someone please tell me why dose the NS Chicago Main through just have NS engines. Why can't they ever put some other road on.

As a rule, if the railroad has its own power available, that's what they'll use.  Sounds like NS has plenty of power available in your area.

It could possibly be a cab signal system that ns engines have that other engines do not.
