It was 32 years ago that Conrail was formed to untangle the mess left in the wake of the Penn Central. It took them awhile, but they ended up turning a profit, paying back every penny the government provided them, and went private in what was at the time the largest IPO in history.
So here's a salute to you, Big Blue...
