How long do you think they'll last until their eventually faded out from the BNSF roster?     Dillon Harrison

Well now, that's a very good question.  Mind if I ask until *what* gets faded out from the BNSF roster?Question [?]

Basically all of the old AT&SF and BN power. Whether it be repainted or just scraped. Basically, The main question within the question itself is, When will we no longer see the old faded BN's, Warbonnets and Bluebonnets traveling down the line. Nothing but all the new BNSF power. I know its slowly happening now, Thats very clear, The numbers keep decreasing day by day of the "classics". Im hoping that BNSF rather than scraps the old locos, Donates them to Railroad museums around the country.    Dillon Harrison

OK, I understand now.  My opinion is...a very long time.  There are still GP7's on the BNSF rosters.  Some of today's units will still be running around 30 years from now.  ( By then, they'll be onto *heritage 35* paint scheme, don't you think?)

While a fair amount of the BN and ATSF power on the roster at the time of the merger will still be in service 20 years from now, I would also think that they will all have been repainted into BNSF colors by that time.  Consider that there is a fair amount of ex-MP power still running on Union Pacific but all of it is in Armour Yellow and Harbor Mist Gray.

The daily commute is part of everyday life but I get two rides a day out of it. Paul
