I sometimes get stuck for twelve, but always have to "tow" myself home. Usually my job works eight hours--no more, no less. A quit is something you get as a courtesy of the person relieving you.
Those "twelve and tow" folks are usually on those jobs by choice. I prefer a more equitable balance between income and family life.

Welcome. Glad to have an experienced railroader in the forum to answer questions. Since Frisco did away with their semaphore signals, I never have a clue as to what is coming or when.
As said above, this is a pleasant group.....mostly. And if you can't find information here, you can probably get along without it.
