Trying to find Railroad related items company who mailed catalogs to Trains Subscriber List
Posted by bluepuma on Friday, December 7, 2007 1:35 PM

One is Historic Rail, I've bought stuff from them, shot glasses.  But there is another company that mailed catalogs.  Didn't get any catalog from them this year.

Not sure if they were in MN, WI or MI  but they had a lot of nice stuff.  Can't find the name with some web searches.

Had lamps, RR lanterns, a bellows train whistle with pull cord, and clocks, specifically a mantle clock for about $150 or so.   SP lights, decorated rail spikes, statues of rail workers, like conductor, engineer, line worker, such.  Wanted to get that clock I didn't buy other years.

Anybody know the company? No ad in recent trains mag.   They didn't have model trains, just other things.

Thanks, Tom - bluepuma

I can't think of the name, but for some reason a W sticks out in my memory.  I may have one I haven't thrown out yet at home...

Isn't there a Schaeffer's Rail Catalouge or something along those lines?

Those of you looking for AUTHENTIC RR items should attend the several Shows which are held  throughout the year. The largest is at Gaithersburg MD in early Nov. There are two at Buena Park, CA and one at Stockton, CA; also Kansas City in mid Sept. and Albuquerque in late May, Ft Worth on Memorial Day weekend and two or three in the Chicago area.

Hadn't thought they were the ones, but they are in MI and they have some of the items I remember seeing, the SP lamps.

The site is styled different than the catalogs I got a while.

The Station Regulator Clock is what I wanted.  Chime, etc.

I think after so many years, I must buy it for myself.  Time this grandfather got a real clock.

I *did* donate some $$$ to the Southwest Indian Foundation in Gallup, NM, to help some Navajo family get a wood/coal combo stove, last year I did a Food Basket.  Thought they might have something in the old Santa Fe station there, still feeling Arizona as my home, and close to the Santa Fe line at the LA end and Chicago end, I feel connected.

They sell indian related stuf through their store to raise $$$ for the indian cause of employment, and services.  - puma

Yes, it's Schraders.  I've had a regulator clock on the wall for 8 years now. Works fine, keeps time, sounds good.

Schraders has authentic engineer caps, too. Not just baseball caps or hickory striped, altho they have these as well.

When I refer to AUTHENTIC I am talking about items which were used by the RR's, not the reproduction knockoffs made in some foreign country.

I wasn't quoting your post. Schraders sells "Kromer" brand caps, made in the USA.
