China Railroads Question

Does anyone know what the gauge for track in China is, is it the same as in the U.S.?  

Would a locomotive from China run on tracks I the United States?

According to this article on Wikipedia they have the same gauge (1.435m or 1435mm) as the US does.  I believe that that "QJ" engines running in IA that were brought from China didn't have to be modified to run, but I could be wrong.

That''s right the Chinese Railways are 4' 8.5"; there are some narrow gauge lines which are 2' 6" gauge.

I believe some ex US Army 2-8-0's and 0-6-0T's survive in China.

 China also operates a large freight of basically unmodified GE C36-7s. I do believe that they use a different coupler system though...

I work for a company that supplies parking lot & traffic safety products. A company in China sent us some literature of their products and several were recycled rubber plates for streets crossing tracks. I was curious if they would even fit between U.S. tracks.
