Well, as the one who started this thread, I'm very pleased that the forum moderation/magazine cared enough to hear our concerns, and do something constructive about it.  Thanks to those entities in particular.

I'll close by saying that I agree that name calling SHOULD be dealt with sternly and swiftly. But the prohibition needs to be evenly enforced . Not just when some members do it, but applied evenly to any and all who might have 'dirty hands'.

What should be done with someone who creates a phony ID similar to that of another member (using that person's avatar) to purposely confuse people? Huh?

Be forced to listen to one of Bush's speaches?

Made to do naked jumping-jacks in front of his abode at noon every Saturday for a month?

A specific, detailed charge should be leveled first.

I guess that would depend upon the situational factors involved. For instance actions taken, any actual damages caused, etc. Why? Are you contemplating branching out into other channels of harrassment?

OK, how about the guy who created this:

He or somebody has since removed the avatar I created using the CA&E logo.

The situational factors affecting anyone who would do such a thing probably include childishness, weenie-ism and being a loser. I just wonder who it could be.

Gee... how can you be surprised? I thought for sure you'd seen it before, probably the first person to do so because that feeble type of harrassment is your sig. Mischief [:-,]

well, your looming paranoia aside, let's get back to the original question as you posed it to me, shall WE??? Kisses [:X]

Assuming that you yourself are not behind this for your own purposes, I can't see where the creator of that member ID has done anything in violation of the terms and conditions of this forum. In fact, they have not even made a  single post yet, HOW did you even find this?

In contrast, you have ventured down your trademark path of namecalling and demeaning invective,  yet AGAIN ...I might add. Which  behavior  clearly IS  prohibited by these forums ToS. Therefore I believe it is YOU that needs to be reeled in.

There, you have my answer now

Just out of an abundance of caution, perhaps you should look into the possibility that your identity might be hacked too? Better close out those online bank accounts, change your password at eBay, and secure all new credit card numbers... etc

I missed the lock thread, but having said that, Phillips is the main reason I let my subscription to Trains expire.

I got tired of his using his spot in Trains for expressing his political views, usually with an obvious flimsy attempt to somehow tie them into trains; I didn't subscribe to Trains to hear his or anyone elses.  And like someone else said earlier, he is always negative and whining.

....Diversification of readers...and fans, I suppose that's what TRAINS has, as I just did some reading in my new January issue last evening and Don's column is one of them I read.

I read it as well. I thought it very interesting that given all the people complaining about his "whining" that he actually wrote a fairly upbeat piece. I know there have been times I didn't agree with him, and that he could come off as "whiny," but his monthly article is one I never miss.

I don't know squat about what all the argument is about, but like Modelcar, I do read Don Phillips column and enjoy them - mainly because I can understand them!  Then I can make my own choices.

I suspect that your convictions are every bit as strong as mine, your's are just......YOURS.  lol.

Hey, you asked, I answered. If my answer is not what you were looking for, then I'm sorry you'll have to be disappointed.

But, I'll  also offer that I'm not sure what your motives are here, it appears that you are trying to provoke  yet another confrontation...and I'm not in the mood to play along. I'll rise to the higher ground, and be done with it. Thanks for the chuckle. Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

You are still here. Good.

Too many old timers "mature" posters seem to be disappearing. Perhaps I should visit the Diner more often.

No, I think the person should be made to sit down with Bush's predecessor for an evening of soda, pizza, (*************censored*************), and then that same cigar as an 'after dinner snack'.

The grade school caliber of your reply aside, all I can offer is that  you  do appear fairly content  down there on the bottom rung all by yourself,   so the decision to head  in the opposite direction really wasn't all that difficult.
