The amazing train that went skiing for a week

From Nov. 2007 Trains magazine, page 61 "Railroad Reading: All in the Family"

"A dry winter in 1982 in the Pacific Northwest beckoned more than a hundred ski groups to travel Amtrak's Pioneer to the small farming town of Shoshone, Idaho. From there, they took a 40-minute bus ride to the Sun Valley Ski Resort. The eastbound Pioneer No. 26 arrived in Shoshone at the ungodly hour of 1:55 a.m. After a week or two of skiing, Pioneer No. 25 would depart Shoshone at 4:25 a.m. for the trip back..."

How did they get it off the slopes and back on the rails? Laugh [(-D]

I love the smell of coal smoke in the morning! I am allergic to people who think they are funny, but are not. No, we can't. Or shouldn't, anyway.

Nice misplaced modifier.

The train going over a jump would have been more fun than that loop we saw recently!

What I want to know is how the hell did they get it onto the ski lift!

   Have fun with your trains
