I don't know if a post regarding this issue has been made yet, but CSX has recently renumbered their SD70MAC series (700-789) to 4500-4589 and their SD80MAC series (800-812) to 4590-4602. Apparently CSX wants three-digit numbers to be GE products, so in replacement to the old number series, CSX ordered 125 ES44AC's to be numbered 700-824. The former 0804, SD80MAC has been renumbered to 4594. The extra '0' is now gone. If we're lucky, they'll put an extra '0' on the new GEVO. This is the truth, as it was confirmed by a GE employee on trainorders.com. And from what I understand, the ES44AC units are to work the coal trains in the central east.
EDIT - Will these new GEVO deliveries effect the older Dash 8 series or AC6000CWs? I really like the Dash 8's and AC6000CW's and would rather see those than any GEVO. Tell me what you think.
