Hopefully they will be able to do all it on a tablet or smart phone.  As it is, a lot of so-called paperwork is done electronically.

They have had conductors offices in the cars for a long time, but the conductors still take over a dinette table....

Why the Orange and White?   Why not stick with blue and grey as before.   The addition of orange does brighting things up a bit but looks awful with the other colors.   White is the worst color choice for upholstery for any mass transit choice, that is going to show wear and tear fairly quick and need a replacement.    Snack car needs more counter space or folks are going to drop food on the floor a lot more than they do now.    Also if your standing and eating, what exactly are you hanging onto when the train jerks in one direction or the other?

   That's what I was thinking.  It seems like they could use some sort of "seat belt" arrangement or small railings sticking out that you could brace yourself against.

The upolstery is leather. The color has no relation to ability to withstand wear and tear and not much on dirt resistance.  The orange is only a small portion of trim.  Standing in a snack bar?  This is the NEC, not the Capital Limited. It's a smooth ride.  People stand on ICEs and aren't falling down and spilling food.

Been on the NEC, fairly crappy ride compared to the German ICE train.   Even so the design is not the same as the German ICE or the Eurostar both have wider counterspace on the sides of the car with much better lighting.   The Eurostar has floor to cieling poles next to each stand at table (now why do you suppose they do that if as you say the ride is so smooth..........could it be so passengers have something to grab onto or are you going to argue they are structural?).

Yes,  the trackage on the DB is usually smoother than the NEC.  ICE Bordbistros don't have poles unlike the Eurostar.  I referred to DB but you overlooked that.
