    I have recenty discovered model trains and would like to get some myself. The problem is i have no idea what i am doing. I would like to know what you all think i should start with. I am 14 and have some money.

  •   Start with a train set in HO or N, beacuse they are two most commonly used scales (HO- 1:87 and N- 1:160, smaller of the two)

  • If I were you I'd go with N scale. With N you can have large layout in a smaller space.

  • If you want to cram in as much as possible, then I'd go with N (1:160) scale. You can build an the equivalent of an HO 4'X8' layout in half the space.
