  • Are you inquiring about real railroading or model railroads?

    the answer is YES.

The C.S.S. & S.B. RR is totally single track from South Bend In. to Miller In. About 60 miles of track.

Model railroading old track power, Cantinary supplied power to one engine and track applied power to the other for three rail.

all new command controls you can run as many and in any direction you can supply power to. Battery power depends on how many you can fit on the tracks.

  • Real Railroads, yes, all the time.  Commuter Rail operations often set up "Push Pull" operations (Locomotive on one end and a "Control CAb" on the other end) to provide passenger service on older single track lines.   More than one train, passing sidings are added, usualy at stations.
