I think it is a great idea. Whether it is for protection of trademark or not it makes things more interesting. I Live in the East and think NS, CSX, NJT, and Septa should do the same.

The only reason UP did this is so they can keep their copyrights on their logo, which equals more money to dole out for us model railroaders.
Personally, I believe they've murdered their fallen flag's paint and heritage. I hope they don't do the same to the Rio Grande.

That is a one - off heritge engine. the UP has/is doing one for each of the rrs they have purchesed.
