Weight

  • I would like to know if there is a scale I should use when I am putting weight in my box cars,gondolers Etc.... If someone could please post it and e-mail me with some answers it would be a great help. my e-mail address is cz01082@comcast.net please use this topic (trains). Thank you.

  • NMRA standard is 1 oz plus 1/2 oz for each inch of length.

    A 40 ft car is about 6 inches long so that's 1 oz plus 3 oz (6 in x .5 oz/in) or 4 oz total weight.
