Intermodal Facility in Las Vegas, New Mexico

  • Las Vegas, New Mexico, located on the former Santa Fe Transcon between Lamy and Raton, has built an intermodal facility next to or near the Amtrak train station.

Anyone know when this facility was built and how it was used in the past and is used currently?

To what extent is rail traffic involved?

  • The "intermodal Facility" is the railroad station.  It is the local bus route hub and is served by AMTRAK.

The Southwest Chief serves the route

There is no intercity bus service

The New Mexico Dept of Transportation runs commuter buses between  Santa Fe and Highlands University which stop in Las Vegas

I tried to sell my two cents worth, but no one would give me a plug nickel for it.

I don't have a leg to stand on.

  • Just another New Mexico boondoggle.
