High Speed Trains in Spain/Europe and over the world

Hi,

my personal webpage (link below) is about HS trains in Spain, Europe and troughout the world. I´m currently searching for reliable sources on HS rails in USA and Canada (Acela and othr projects). Would anyone please tell me?

Other than Amtrak's Acela, there aren't any more fast trains in America..... and Acela is slow compared to European standards.....

It appears that Florida might build HSR first, and California is debating when to place HSR on the ballot.....

Texas is planning HSR as part of its trans Texas corridors....but still decades away....

do a search for the Florida Bullet Train. Their effort is fairly well organized.

Thanks to both,

Florida and California HS raiways projects aren´t known at all here, so I am very interested in them.

Mainly because both, as I know, will be constructed from zero, something esential for speed (lines used also for goods transport will never be real HS ones, commercial exploitation is impossible with both train types running).

And by the way, what do you think about HS there, in the USA? What´s your image of spanish HS rails?

We don't get a lot of Spanish Railway news over here, other than the obvious exception of the Madrid Bombing. I have an advantage belonging to the IEEE-VTS. I get news about transit and HS rail systems from all over the world through their publication.

As to the Florida HS system, There has been a strong campaign against it led by that state's governor Jeb Bush ( brother of president George Bush ). I suspect that this campain has it's roots in the oil comapny/highway lobby, which is very strong and pwerful here. They will use their influence to the detriment of their fellow citizens, a charactreistic which I would find repugnant, even if I were not a railfan. I would love to see HS railways built here. I think once americans experienced HS rail travel, they would like it.
