What makes you think that isn't the real reason?

What is the REAL reasons why the Union pacific wanted the steam locomotive off the Brooklyn property other than expanding the freight operations

The Union Pacific aquired the Brooklyn yard property with the Southern Pacific merger in 1996, They have given the various groups that make up the ORHF free use of the property, INCLUDING UTILITIES. The UP has notified the ORHF that it MAY be given a 30 day notice to vacate the property, they were given that notice a long time ago( I don't recall the exact date) this notice does not say that they have to leave in 30 days, but rather they MAY get notice to vacate in 30 days. If the UP wanted the ORHF off the property, they simply would have given the ORHF a 30 day notice to vacate the property, and the ORHF would have to leave.

They have not been given a 30 day notice, and the UP has offered to let the ORHF disassemble and take with them the roundhouse and turntable. So lets look at this, 13 years of FREE rent and utilities, the option of taking the roundhouse and turntable with them at no charge, and a courtesy notice that they may be given a 30 day notice, which has never come, and the UP needs the property for revenue earning uses. I also ask why you think that there is some hidden reason for UP wanting the ORHF off the property, they have been Extremely Generous to the ORHF in the past.

I talked with Doyle McCormack during last years Holiday Express excursions, and He had nothing but Good things to say about the UP and the SP before them.

Oh, BTW there are 3 Steam Locomotives, plus some Diesels and assorted equipment there, which steam locomotive is it that you think the UP wanted off thhe property?
