  • Dear John,

CalTrain has the MPI MP36PH-3C, Metra of Chicago has the MPI MP36PH-3S! Just thought that Info. might be handy!

  • THEY ARE THE UGLISTEST LOCOMOTIVES EVER THEY COULD BREAK A CARAMA
  • They aren't that bad. They are a definite improvement over Amtrak's P42's and Metra's own F40PH-2M's.
The daily commute is part of everyday life but I get two rides a day out of it. Paul
  • No way P42 is a cool loco, but im partial becaust ive seen the inside up close. Joe
  • Personally speaking, I think they are quite good looking, have a great paint scheme (Metra units), sound great (especially when in dynamic braking) and are a welcome change from the old "Winabago" F40's (although I said that about the F40's when they were new and just starting to replace the really old and tired E9 units here).

  • Yeah, they would break a CAMERA if they RAN IT OVER. Too bad there is no such thing as a CARAMA. Though, I would like to see how they break those...
