I was just received a ton of electric train stuff. I was told it is "HO" and "N" gauge.I'm not sure. There is alot of engines, cars, buildings, track, controlers, transformers. It looks like the guy bought out a hobby shop.I don't know what it all is or what it is worth. I could use some help figureing out the value of all this stuff. I plan on selling it as soon as I find out just what I have and what it is worth. I have taken a couple of dozen pic's but I haven't had much luck finding values mostly because I really don't know what I have. I would be very thankful for any advice/help that I could get. Thanks for your time,Lee.

There are books out there that are available to help you in this matter.
There is Greenberg for Lionel
There is an Athern guide and others, depending on mfgs.
The other option is to go to E-bay, under hobbies and toys, then model railroad, then the guage, such as HO, N, Z, HOn3. etc. then enter the item that you have in your hand under search and see what comes up, what it is selling for, watch it in your e-bay and see the final sale price. Also go to trains shows and sales and see what the new and used dealers are getting for similar items.
A couple of main concerns that direct the selling price is the Mfg. the condition, and the rarity of the item. Some items were not produced for very long or a certain issue of a particular model might have a defect or misspelled name or missing data marks etc. etc. that all affect the price of any given model or kit.
For example, I have an Erie Gondola made by Athern that has a Lionel log on it. Now it is authentic but there are copies out there as well that you have to be careful about and check them out thoughly before committing a price to them either buying or selling.
You must do your homework to make the most of the opportunity you have. It is work, it does take time, and a lot of us find it very interesting. Remember, this is the World's Greatest Hobby.
Hope this has been some help.

It would be helpful if you could post a few pictures of the models so we could get a look at them and evaluate what exactly you have. If there are boxes that the stuff comes in, that could also be helpful. But I need some more info about your stuff.
If you can do this it would help.
Happy railroading

I guess my pic's aren't clear enough or no one thinks they are of much value since I haven't got any replys since the pic's went up. I did get one offer on one loco. I also got a offer on the whole lot for a grand total of $250. I may just go ahead and take that offer cause that amount of money will help alot on my '67 Cutlass i'm bringing back to life. I want to thank anyone that looked at the pic's and to thank anyone who has replied!
