    SD40's have been seen in just about every type of service. I now enjoy how they are beginning to turn up in yard and hump duty.
    The daily commute is part of everyday life but I get two rides a day out of it. Paul

    Modern GEs all the way! There is nothing that makes my day brighter than seeing a big CSX AC6000CW or UP AC4400CW hauling a intermodal or coal train throught the country. But BNSF and NS DASH 9s are just as great. And let's not forget about Amrtak's and Metro North's and Via Rail Canada's GE Genesis (P32, P40, P42, AMD-103 Genesis) Locomotives. When it comes to Diesel-Electric Passanger Locomotives, their's nothing better than the Genesis Series. (Save maybe MPI MP36PH Series of Diesel-Electric Locomotives)

    I have been down this road befor with many a buff and rail roader alike, but my personal fav is and untill something better comes along is the CW-44-9AC. I have run Gp38s and 40s Sd40, 50,60, 70 &80s, -7 , -8, -9s, eveything in the CSX roster as far as classes of engins go. But i stand behind the 44-9acs.

    EVERY SPECIAL DUTY (SD) LOCOMOTIVE AND ALSO THE GP-15-1 AND GP40X AND GP-20 AND GP30!!!!

    F Units (PA/FA, FM, Sharks) because they have style. Why can't we have style with today HP? Bring back the the style. Style is making a come back in auto's why not trains?

    Too many favourites here
    50's would have to be Alco PA's followed closely by F & E units
    60's would have to be SD40's
    70's would have to be SD40-2's & maybe an LRC
    80's would have to be SD40-2F's
    90's would have to be AC4400's
    00's would have to be MLW 4-6-4 H1b 2816 [:)]

    All the choices on the poll, they're all good locomotives. But one guy has a good point. NO ALCOs? You gotta have 'em on here.
