Agreed!
Well, over here I may have a trip to the Dells in the works for next weekend! As with all my other trips to the Dells, I will probably be in the area around the Wisconsin River Bridge from time to time on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday including for the CP Holiday Train. This also means that hopefully a stop at Janesville to see the WSOR is possible. Hopefully if this trip does happen there will be some snow on the ground, or falling. It isn't 100% set in stone yet, but it is in the works.

Sweet! I like that photo. Congrats.
Yeah that is a pretty sweet pic :)
Yeah, very nice!
I don't have any photos there. You know, I don't even know if I've EVER taken a photo of a prototype train! Just models.
Oh the horrors! I'm so deprived!
Ty, get to a clinic! You are in serious need of help, I think I even feel your pulse slow as i type!
Jordan, looks like you have a pretty decent camera. But the bad part is that now you'll look back at your other shots and wish you would have had your new camera.
Alec
Atmo, UP hasnt bought anyone in the last 8 years. Eight years ago you didnt even really have any sort of train knowledge or much of a passion either.
CN has bought 5 railroads since 1999, the IC,WC,DMIR,BLE, and the BC Rail. Soon the EJE, so you really sound funny saying "welcome to my world".

Oh man that is so true. All the WC SD40-2s I photographed, and the GP40s.....I do sure wish I got this sooner.

UP ran out of roads to devour. i've loved CNW all my life too! i didnt go haywire till i realized every last CNW unit has been destroyed and that i may never see one ever again!
Your friendly neighborhood CNW fan.
Jordan, those are some nice photos! Yeah, I've had that happen many times where I look back through my old photos from my first Olympus camera. These three catches back in 2005 on the EJ&E are always the first to come to my mind, a WC SD45 in the old scheme, three leased Ohio Central engines, and a CNW AC4400CW. The SD45 and the CNW are gone now, and the OHCRs are back in Ohio.
Of course there is this photo always, perhaps a sign of things to come on the EJ&E. I'll take the engine to the right over the CN any day!

What about those 2 Dash 9s?
WCTransfer; I know, pretty sad, huh? Whenever I'm somewhere with a train, my non-railfan dad takes photos, but I never do, for some reason. Whenever there's a train, I don't have my camera!

Ok, the Dells trip this weekend is official! I will be coming up to the Dells probably sometime Saturday afternoon or evening. I will probably be at the Wisconsin River Bridge sometime early Sunday morning, weather permitting, and at various other times throughout the day, then again for the CP Holiday Train and on Monday morning. That means no school for me Monday! This trip is not for the sole purpose of railfanning, as I am staying at a hotel with a indoor theme park! Should be a lot of fun. Also stops at Rochelle and Janesville, along with the Mid-Continent Railway Museum (they aren't operating anything but there is equipment parked where you can get photos) are possible.
Ty, I used to have those times many years ago where I wouldn't be expecting seeing a train and didn't bring the camera, but with the Chicago area being as busy as it is with trains, I've learned over the years never leave your camera at home! You never know when you are going to run into something in the Chicago area, expect the unexpected!
