Nice pictures Robby. Do you know the numbers on those WC Grey Ghosts, I can see some but not all. I want to see if I have any pictures of them in service.
Well there's CN for ya. Pretty stupied all I can say.
Looks like tommrow is gonna be a monster snow storm. If it is I want to try and RF. I would like some winter shots of the switcher. But I got to get up early so i can catch her out to 3M.

Here are photos from today's trip to Homewood, just two, because not much was different today from yesterday.
Another view of the deadline. This is a very long line. It stretches all the way from here to the locomotive shop, and there are more lines not visable here, and this line includes the ex-GCFX SD40-3s, the BCOL SD40-2, a BCOL RS18C, 4 DM&IRs and several CN GMD1s and SW1200RSs
The CN E9s still sit outside the shops. Note DM&IR SDM 317 to the left, the most recent DM&IR retirement. As I mentioned before CN is currently so short of power on the DM&IR they are using two B&LE engines to assist, so why they continue to retire DM&IR power is beyond me. In total, there are 7 DM&IRs stored at Homewood.
Currently, the deadlines are so full of engines at Homewood there is barely any room for anything else. No matter why CN is power short! Total count of engines stored at Homewood according to CN's website, 83, and that was before the ex-GCFX SD40-3s started showing up.
The CN seems to not like leased stuff anymore if they can help it. The only DMIR locomotives they seem to be keeping is the stuff they own (though they did buy out at least one lease), and now the grey ghosts are going...
I do believe the 317 was retired a while back, as there are still three SDMs running around at last report, and it's been that way for a month or two. Probably just took a while for the unit to get down to Homewood. The most recent DMIR retirment that I know of is the 202, except that it's still working. It's been offically retired in the CN computer, but it's still being used on the Missabe until a suitable replacement can be found. They just can do any work or put any money into the engine because of it's status.
I don't beleive I've posted the link to my shot from last Friday here yet. The day after turkey day a couple of freinds and I made a trek to the Davis Junction/Rochelle area. The UP was really moving trains, but we stuck with the ICE action we found when we could. The UP is nice and all, but the shots around the petting zoo are limited, and I'll take a quartet of blue and yellow engines over the UP any day. Managed to catch the Burlington Junctions Geep working around Rochelle, their SW sitting around too.
My photobucket album with the photos is Here, or if you prefer a slideshow version, that's found Here.

Nice shot.s Noah.
Robby, none of the grey ghosts I've seen are picture on you picture of the deadline. But I'm sure they are there. Or will be.
Heres some news for ya'll WC fans....
Bad news is the WC 2500 has been given its one way ticket to Woodcrest. Retired yesterday, which does not say it will appear there immediately, it could still be working, but it does have the one way ticket
