Now that everyone is pretty much introduced, I think that we should start posting some of our railfanning pictures every now and again (that is what this forum is sorta about).
Well, if you insist, I suppose I COULD go railfanning....
Supposed to be sunny Thursday, I think I'll head down to mile 5 and try to get a good snowy photo early in the morning....
Then on the weekend I'm off to BC, where the trains are headed by SD40-2s as well as GEs. [:-D]
Go here for my rail shots! http://www.railpictures.net/showphotos.php?userid=9296

Well, since you insist on railfan photos, I suppose I could post this link to my latest album:

Last Sunday I had another chance to head back to my favorite railfanning local in all of the US; along the Mississippi River around La Crosse. As usual though I tried out a few new photo locations, and shot trains from the BNSF,CP, and a regional railroad (Iowa, Chicago, and Eastern). That's part of what I love about the River though, I could go dozens of trips to that area without ever shooting the same location twice! This is also the first chance I've had to get shots over on the River in snow.

Yea, you got that right. It was a holiday invented by the chocolate and card companies to have an excuse to make more money. It sucks even more when you don't have a valentine.
Well, I am off from school today. We have an ice storm coming through.
Well, I can see some really harsh words about Valentines day. I don't see what the big fuss is about? I think it's a perfectly fine holiday. How does it affect your life? Does it make a total hell or something? I need some explanations.
Anyway, nothing new going on. I did get a new passenger car. I got a brass RPO milwaukee road car. It has a really nice paint job and it goes well with my Afternoon Hiawatha I'm building.
Happy railroading
James
Glad you guys liked the shots.
I've never really had a problem with Valentines day, although I've never thought much of it either. I guess you could say in that argument, I'm Switzerland (always neutral).
James, Do you have a Milwaukee Road Skydome car (I think that's what you call it, like the one that usually is on the end of the 261 trains)? Right now the only I know of in HO scale is Brass, and it cost lots-o-$$$$. Too rich for my blood. If a manufacturer were to ever come out with it in Plastic though at reasonable price, I wouldn't mind getting one. Eventually I want to put together a MILW 261 excursion consist (with only MILW cars of course), although that's definately a project that's for a ways down the road.
i haven't gone a v-day with out a girlfriend since 5th grade lol it is annoying getting stuff for a girlfriend every year but it's worth it for what u get in return. lol if u know what i meen .thats one thing i've learned. lol well have a good v day... and bye tthe way i'm jake

True. I suppose if you look at it that way some people wouldn't want anything to do with it. But if you have a girlfriend, I bet it's worth it.
Noah- I do not have a skytop parlor lounge at the moment. In fact, if you look on ebay you can find a skytop (unpainted) for about $250 to $300. Now painted, that's another question. Painted, these cars can easily go for $600 to $700. So my best bet, I will be getting an unpainted skytop. I'm thinking that it will cost me $1500 to $2000 to get the full train.
1 brass RPO $150
1 Athearn baggage $20
5 rapido trains coaches $250
1 brass Super Dome $300 to $500
1 brass parlor car $350
1 brass diner car $350
1 brass skytop car $350 to $450
There's about $1800 of models here.
I already have 2 coaches, 1 baggage, 1 RPO and the Erie builts needed to power the train.
Thats the Hiawatha passenger train.
Definately an expensive trainset! I've seen, in person, a whole hiawatha set running once though, and it is awfully impressive all right with the skytop at the rear and a couple of MILW E units on the point. Good luck to you on getting that one put together!
