  • I voted for GM's SD-70M. As to all-time it would be EMD E-series.
As for GE, they should stick to lightbulbs.

  • I voted for the SD70M- great power, great looks ( no absurdly oversized-looking radiators, although the SD90's are distinctive), presumably great reliability. The C44-9W is a strong contender as well.

  • I love the Dash-9 and the AC4400 booth so I just voted
for the dash-9 because I was not sure what one I like the best.

  • I have a soft spot of GE design, but I went with the GM SD80/90 because it's such a big, no nonsense brute. Someone else mentioned the failure to list the Amtrak Genesis locomotive as a choice. I really liked this locomotive in the Amtrak Phase IV scheme. It is in the tradition of the classic passenger locomotives. I hate the Acela scheme, however. That is gross logo marketing ala Nike and Coke.

  • been around them all and like them all, but still have a personal preference for the old workhorse of them all, the SD40-2, still hammering away even after all these years
