    WHO WOULD EVEN THINK OF VOTING FOR A GE LOCOMOTIVE!? They're ugly, massive, belching brutes! Face it folks, the designers at EMD really know how to make a locomotive look good. P.S. notice that all the new UP commercials feature Sd70M's...wonder why.

    The FP45's. I know they aren't considered modern, but man where they modern looking in the day!

    My favorite locomotive is from EMD the gp38-2 & gp 40 there are some on the roads today still going strong

    The SD90mac will always be a favourite with N-gauge followers, since it is the largest of the modern diesels, and looks impressive even in N-gauge,

    I don't have any favourite modern locos, while their engineering may be great, they don't have the personality of a 1st or 2nd generation loco or a steamer .
