  • I have a question. Alstom, when you go raifanning, is all you do take down loco numbers? Or do you actually, idk, just enjoy it?

Yes. About 6 or 7 years ago, I saw a pair of WC F45's at Doswell Avenue. No pictures, sadly. I was only 8 at the time.
  • Max- I enjoy it to hell and back!!!!!!!!!! My mom writes down the numbers in a little dialog book. I put up one hell of a fight to go and watch trains. I just study the dialog book afterwards and memorize the numbers and dates. Plus, I read railroad news so I know alot about the numbers.

And also, please call me Rich or Richard. I prefer not to be called "alstom."

Anyways, I got those photos today and (finally) the sun was on my side. I caught a rare switching job doing movements in the Akron (Brittain) yard with WE 103 (GP35), WE 7377 (SD40-2 - GATX paint) and WE 4001 (SD40-3). They were moving a particular boxcar across the yard.

Also in the yard was WE 2645 (GP35) which had visible Southern markings on it and the dang ABC Railway SW1200 (1502).

Then later on we worked our way to Medina, OH to see WE 4018 (SD40-3) for the third time in a row. But at least I got a nice shot of the sky and the sun shining on the loco. WE's look good with the sun shining on them!

Go to my unicapital site below and to newest photos to see them.

That is all for today, but tomorrow I am spending all day at my father's "new" house to watch the CSX's New Castle Sub. in his backyard which sees about 30-35 trains a day. So be expecting more photos from there tomorrow (Cuyahoga Falls, OH).

    Enjoy!

  • Y'all, phpbb is off line again.
  • I'm really mad at phpbb. I don't think they've got anybody to fix it on weekends as it's been off since late Friday night.
  • I still like the theory on one of the support forums for why phpbb is down. Some guy left to close up on Friday night, and instead of hitting the light switch, he hit the power switch to the server. So, when the same guy comes back Monday morning and hits the wrong switch again, the servers should come back up.... [;)}

Well guys, I'm up early because I'm going railfanning today. Hopefully I'll stop back intomorrow with a good many photos of BNSF, CP, and if we get lucky some Iowa, Chicago, and Eastern. We might hit a train show in La Crosse too if the railroad traffic is down.

Better get going, my ride will be here soon,
    Noah
  • Welll....................Caught the WC down here last night after my games. We won both too, so we are really pulling to win State (it is the State Tourney), but here is the pics.

  • well I did get to see 1 train which was Q693 with 2 AC4400CW's with my dad (the non-railfan) since my driver's(grandfather) favorite aunt passed away.

Here 2 pics of me at the lynx game yesterday

    1. saying ''we are going to beat the hell out of you you you you you you'' not a very good pic while I wave my lynx flag.
    2. saying hey after our 1st goal out of 2. they scored 8 so the final was 8-2 and no we are not saying white power.

  • ROFL. I don't know what sport you are even talking about, but it's hilarious.
On Friday night I was on my way to a girl's house (Whopee) and I caught a unit pota***rain, and guess what it had midtrain? CP ES44ACs! And that's my railfan news for the week, the weather sucks, no railfanning for me..plus, I coulnd't get a shot cause it was night. And I was in a hurry.

  • Went railfanning a little bit today at my father's new house in Cuyahoga Falls, OH. The photo in my sig and five other photos all on rrpicturearchives are all taken from there. But one bad thing, the sun was against me today...... But it was still good enough.

Rare things today were a BNSF HII ES44AC (5762 - if my mind serves me correctly) and two GCFX SD40-2s (FURX paint) pulling a CSX Coke Train (not photographed - stopped at crossing).

Anyways, I have to get a bath so I'll talk to ya'll tomorrow. Enjoy!!!!

  • CMSTPP: Your remarks about cityrail, saying it is wierid, i have thought about at length. I consider them to be derogartory to my favourite railway, and i was a little upset, not much though about those remarks. i also happen to like the railcars, and think thjat there cool. hey 150 km/h, about 90 mph by a 620 class railcar ain't bad, either.

if you want to knock australian trains, come over to aus. and ride them first.

sorry if i sound mad, but you really don't know much about australian trains.

    end of rant!
