TEEN RAILFAN PLACE-LET'S TALK TRAINS! Thread Locked

  • Bring me back WC SD45 pics. It snowed real nice, which means if i bike, i pay for it, meaning slipping, cold, hard to manuver through snow, so ya. But gueeeeeeeeeess what? IM GONNA DO IT!
Matt: The first one is on railpictures, search for the number. The second one is too, but its not really based of anything but the engine.

  • No railfanning today, and I am mad. Maybe I can get someone to take me, or ride my bike the 10 miles to the tracks?

  • I don't want to sound stupid, but what do you use to shade the drawings it doesn't look like paint? I have been working on a very large charcol drawing of the challenger and a GE loco. I am unable to get you any pics of the Rivarossi like I said I would; the stupic camera doesn't want to focus on anything that small and close.
  • Been working a little more on the module. After several attempts at casting rocks for the module, and after several failures, I finally decided I'm just going to hand carve the side of the hill out of plaster. I've done that before and it turns out okay, and since the carved part will face away from the public anway, so it'll be okay that way too.

I better go get a start on some of the homework I've got for Monday, that way I don't leave it till the last minute. I'm kinda bored anyway....

    See ya,
    Noah
  • LOTUS, I first put down the shade i want with the pencil, Then i go over it rubbing it with my finger.... thats why it's so smooth!,..... just shade with your pencil and blend with your finger... the oils in your skin wake it blend nicely!.... But with charcoal you need to be extra easy on it. and be real smooth! I didn't get a chance to draw one today but i'll get to work on another!!!! B-4 I START.... are there any request lol!!!!

  • Hey guys you wont believe the train chasing I did today.

So my dads friend has this house in Lake Geneva, and we leave fromj there at about 9 in the morning, not sure where to go. On a whim, we decided to head to Janesville, a WSOR yard. Upon arrival, we heard a train horn, and saw A WSOR train led by WSOR 4025, the 25th annaversary loco, another SD40-2, and 2 SD20s, one of them being the look listen and live unit!. So, we chased them for thirty miles, and since it was a local, they did some switching and stuff, and our chase lasted 5 hours. Since today was cloudy, no railpics. However, I want to shot you guys these shot so bad that I will be making a railimages.com page soon, and I will have a more detailed trip report.

Alec- sorry, dude, no WC.... I don;t like the CN either... [:(!]- nice drawings BTW!

    Chase- you are LUCKY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    See ya guys later...
  • Howdy y'all. Just popping in to say Hello. I hope everyone had a awesome holiday, and that you have an equally excellent New Years. I really should be going to bed right now...But I'm not doing anything tomorrow. Hopefully I can get out to the bank, and then train stores to spend some Christmas cash.[;)]

Noah, I just opened a railimages.com account, so pics are coming! [:D]
    A desctription of the chase...

We wandered into Janesville, and encountered a southbound freight, with 2 SD40s (or are those SD40-2s, or does the WSOR own both?) and 2 of heir AWESOME SD20s, one of which had the Look Listen And Live paint scheme. It passsed south thru Janesville, and over a bridge. we then chased him for a while, until he swiched some cars at a grain elavator in the city of Avalon. We then chased hime for a long while, and he switched again in in a city whos's name bagins with a B... I cant remeber the name now... after that, we chased him to Walwurth (spelling), and I took my final shots on an old bridge outside of Walwurth... It was interesting, becasue we were going to sit in Duplaneville all day, and just went to Janesville on a whim!

as soon as I get my railimages thing done I can show you gusy those pics, as well as my models! Cant wait!...

Ohh, and Scott, glad you stopped in, I thought you left us![:0]

Stop being sick. This one should come to fruition early next month.;-)

Now to trains. Took out a 35 car train today, that was fun. There wasn't a point where no part of the train wasn't in a tunnel! :-D Powered by 4 Kato SD40s and 2 C-424s midtrain. Had 10 grain cars, 10 boxes, something like 5 coal cars, and 10 assorted cars, or something like that. And a caboose, of course.
Now I'm back to being lazy!
