  • I did ask yesterday about what happened to the other olace? or is there some cone of silence around that matter?
  • It got locked because of a few things that happened, and then deleted.
Yay, my loneliness has come to a temporary end! I talked to a hot girl on MSN, a really nice one at that. But tomorrow more school....*sigh*...
as I have nothing more to say, I say goodnight to all. And sorry for not being a bit more conversational and somewhat emo.

  • Hey guys,

Starting my first day of Chirstmas break today, but I figured I'd check out the forums a little first before I head to go work on my module. I'd like to get some shots of the module today too if I can help.

Things are not looking good on the railfanning front for my Christmas break. So far the weather report is predicting cloudy, partly cloudy, or snowy all week, and they guy I go railfanning with usually doesn't head out unless it's going to be mostly sunny. So things don't look good for me getting to go railfanning anywhere special. I might try and convince my Mom to take me 'fanning over in Wisconsin Dells on the CP though. We'll see what happens I guess.

  • Man, I moved out of the school where my hot girlfriend(s) were! I had two! And I was a popular kid! But then that all got flushed down the toilet when I moved to the lame school I'm at now, with absolutely NO hot girls!! Well, maybe I could ring off a couple, but still!

Anyways, can't wait to go railfanning next week and the week after! Next week I'm not necessarily railfanning, but help my friend detail his layout and get his track plan set-up. (He is just starting his layout). I'll probably take a couple of my locos over there and give em' a spin on his track plan to test it!

  • Well...I tried to talk my Mom into taking me to the train store after we went shopping, but it didn't work...Dern...Oh well, after Christmas when I have some more money, I'll get her to take me.[;)]

Talking girls too are we? Well...I don't have one, don't think I'll have one anytime soon, and have only ever had one girlfriend. My [2c].

  • I'M FREE!
No more school till next year.
Scott, long time no see. Good to see you back.
    Merry Christmas!
  • Scott, Congrats on four stars Mr. General! It's going to be weird seeing your posts without yellow stars now though....

Edit: I was buming around railpictures.net and take a peek at what I found:

    http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=92757
    http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=99122

It's a CSX snowblower, but it has reporting mark of SB1000. As soon as I saw the SB, I got to wondering if maybe Scott had his hands on desgining this one, as it looks like something he would do....[:)][;)]

I'd love to model that snow blower sometime, but I think it would be way to big of a kitbashing project for me....

  • Rotaries live!!
Everyone, I have remade my forum! http://s3.phpbbforfree.com/forums/hickssforum.html
It is now officially back to the way it was!
As for school, I am actually going to miss about half of it....namely lunch, musical theatre and spare! After all, it's where pretty much all of my socialising takes place. But now I have the contact information of a girl! Mwahahahaha!
Tomorrow I get to do something very interesting, I am playing cello, the basso continuo part for my church's midnight mass! Yes I will be awake really late, but it will be fun!
Speaking of late, it is getting there, goodnight to all!

  • [:)][8D]MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!! [:D]

And to those who do not celebrate Christmas, happy holidays![:D]

Since yesterday, December 23 was my first day of winter break, my dad and I deided to kick off our winter breaks ( my dad is a high school administrator, so we get the same break) by doing some downtown Chicago railfanning.

So, here ya go, a trip report with photos... ENJOY!!! [8D]

So me and my dad left the house pretty early in the morning. We encountered little traffic on the way to Chicago, so it was only a 40 minute trip. Our first stop was a small BNSF yard on Western Avenue. I really like this spot because you can get the sears tower in you pics, and there are usually a few trains waiting for clearence... Okay, I will let the photos do the talking...

    http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=128686

We then headed to Global 1, a UP intermodal yard, and saw these three units up on a bridge. Since I despretly wanted a shot, my dad and I climbed an embankment and walked up on the acces road leading to the bridge, and I shot this shot.
    http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=128699

    Is that second unit rare?

Our next stop was Corwith Yards, a large BNSF locomotive facility. My dad got a shot of me near an old Santa Fe GE... Here is what I look like...

I then saw something I really wanted to see- a GP60M!!!
    http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=128713

After snapping that photo, I heard the distnat rumble of a GEVO and...
    http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=128720
These things are sharp!!!! Before I took this photo, I had turned around to see what all the noise was, and slipped on a sheet of ice...but I saved the camera, and thats all that matters. Who cares that my leg still hurts? I saved the camera. So I got up from the cold wet ground and fired off that shot.

Next, an intermodal train came barreling through...
    http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=128742
I believe the third unit is a GEVO

After we left the yard, we encountered that same intermodal train at a grade crossing, on its way out of that yard.

As you can see, I had a great day, and jacked my railpictures.net photo count way up. I even tried some new angles!!!!

Well guys, since today is couldy, I am working on the layout. But I will be back, so let me know what ya thouhght of my trip report.

    MERRY CHRISTMAS

    [:D][:D][:D][:D][:)]
