  • Well we sit and bad mouth the dispatcher ( my job is in dark territory on a class IIs line not ours so guess how much time we spend doing that!) havea snack watch the waitresses at the local steak house ( if going the right way in that siding) Discuss how the railroad is screwing us and themselves. Talk about the next switch move, call the other crew of our road getting screwed as well and see where our cars are from them. Watch people get on and off the gambling boat ( again if in the right spot)Walk over to the gas station and get more chips and soda.Pretty much all that stuff..

Yes we are on time but this is yesterdays train

  • Max.. that is the most broken rule in the book. every one sleeps.. Watching movies are fun too.
  • Kind of a dumb question, but do they allow radios (music, whatever) in the loco? Obviously you need to hear the dispatcher, radio chatter, etc, but I would die of boredom if I couldn't listen to music during the shift....anyone?

If it's against the rules, do people break it?
