  • It's got to be a rumor.........It will never happen.
    BNSF railfan.
  • Both CSX and UP are really hurting but I don't think they are going bankrupt.
  • Never say never.

Yes we are on time but this is yesterdays train

  • If CSX had left Conrail alone none of these rumors would be going around.

  • The CSXT going bankrup? Golly. Who fell for that one? The way they run their railroad? Don"t hold you're breath. That four letter word is a holding company, hundreds of companys strong. Sell? OK. Remove the sevice lanes? What time yesterday morning, did you think we were borne? That road, which made big-city roads of struggeling routes, has world wide influence. The Intermodel traffic alone pays big revenue. And who would provide North-South coverage to make up? Trucking? Get real! ACJ.

  • This whole CSXT thing is starting to sound like a (UP) You Pee thing.
    Get it?
  • I think its nuts

Nuts from what I have seen any way. While recently going on vacation, we stopped at Winona Crossing in Florence SC (My home state, I live in Myrtle Beach) as we were going to Carowinds in Charlotte NC. When we stopped here comes a train. I coulnd't tell if it was an Amtrak (there is a station in florence, i've seen it) or a CSX.

When the Crossing lkites started flashing I was prett sure it was a CSX. and sure enough it was, then it stopped on the road. We were wopundering what was happening when we saw , on the second track, here came another CSX. After the second train had cleared the other started up again and then here came another behind it on that track and another on the secon. Afetr the next set had cleared, Here cam the last one. All of them were CSX and the % trains had a pretty big load. A HUGE LOAD !!!

The only reason this is going around is becuase some Conrail lovers were upset when CSX to Conrail over and wanted revenge. The poor pathetic saps.

  • Ok reality check time people.First off never say never.Second NS runs north south in the same areas.Plus if you liquidate CSX other lines can come in and buy for cheap all those routes. It can happen and just because you have a large company that is a holding company doesnt mean a thing either.BN was owned by a holding company as were a few others that were dropped or sold off. Plus large companies can fold just as easy.I am not saying it is happening but the last Pres of CSX made a few enimies when he left and there was some harping about him leaving the railroiad in less than stable shape and he still got a bonus.Money can dissapear real quick folks.Need I say Enron?Better yet how many people in the 70's thought SP would be bought by its rival cause it was dying?Or that Pennsy and NYC when they merged would become a government case being subsidized till they could get on their feet and then be split to NS and CSX(heck NS had been trying since Claytor was the pres!)Just a fact of life Never say never and dont count your chickens before they are hatched.

Yes we are on time but this is yesterdays train
