Welcome to the forum, ddyess! [#welcome]
You must have a Marx set. I'm not an expect on Marx Trains, but some people on the Classic Toy Trains forum, such as Sask_Tinplater (Mitchell) should be able to help you with futher identification, as well as how much they're worth.

You are right, it is Marx. As it happens, I had already sent an e-mail to ddyess concerning his train.

WHY ARE YOU YELLING AT US?
I have info for you, too, but why do I have to go to the trouble to email you, when I'm right here where you put the question?
You don't want to go through the trouble of ever returning here for answers?
