Back i 1989 I went on a hollyday to visit a friends family in PA. It was in Lebanon near Hershy 1 hour East from Harrisburg. I went sevearl time to spot a train at the local station in Lebanon but never succeed. My question is: What is the name and where does it go to and from ,and is it still operating?

At that time the railroad you saw would have been part of Conrail which has since been broken up and is half owned and operated by CSX and the other half is owned and operated by NS. Originally it would probably have been the Reading railroad. The Reading was a regional railroad that operated primarily in the eastern half of Pennsylvania into the coal mine areas above Reading, Allentown, and Scranton. At the souwest end it joined the Western Maryland and the jersey Central on the east. It ran the Crusader to New York from Philadelphia daily which was an all stainless steel train with an observation car on either end so it was bidirectional. The crack passenger train up into the coal country was the King Coal. Diesels were black with a green stripe with small yellow stripes on either side on F units. GP's were close to Pullman green. later they cam up with a new bright yellow and darker green color scheme that Kato reproduced on SD45's. The line to Lebanon terminated at Harrisburg at Rutherford yard with a connection to the PRR.

Im thinking in 1989 Conrail would have ran that way along the former Reading RED ing Line. No regular scheduled passenger trains have been that since 1981 or so. Currently Norfolk southern I believe is the current freight operator today.

I think it is now operated by Norfolk Southern now, not CSX.
